The Good Food for New Arrivals Programme aims to improve access to nutrition information available to newly arrived families from specific Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities.
This project concentrates on establishing good nutrition practices by parents for the optimal development of young children. This will be done through the development of information that is culturally sensitive and appropriate for CALD families.
It particularly concentrates around the three areas of Breastfeeding, Introduction to solid foods for infants and Vitamin D deficiency.
The project aims to work closely with the South Sudanese Community, the Ethiopian community and other communities including Afghani, Iranian and Iraqi communities and at the following link you will find plain English and bilingual nutrition information developed in conjunction with these communities.
