‘Final Departure’ Bridging E Visa for people seeking asylum who have been transferred from Nauru or PNG for medical care

Please see below for information relating to the ‘final departure’ Bridging E Visa.  The Department of Immigration and Border Protection have made a decision to issue people seeking asylum who have been transferred from Nauru or Papua New Guinea for medical care, and who have been living in community detention, with a ‘final departure’ Bridging E Visa.

December 2017: The Department of Health and Human Services Information Sheet provides information about how to access the Urgent Package of Support for people who are affected by the ‘final departure’ Bridging E Visa.

October 2017: The Victorian Refugee Health Network Information Sheet provides information for health and other service providers about how to support clients who may be affected.

October 2017: The Refugee Legal Fact Sheet provides clear legal information about the ‘final departure’ Bridging Visa, including entitlements, implications and key messages for people who are, or may be, affected.
