Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Project – Phase 2

by | Sep 30, 2024

The Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing project is aimed to facilitate engagement of refugee background communities and the service sector in Victoria’s mental health reforms.

The next phase of the Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing project began in March 2024 and will continue through to December 2025, aimed at improving engagement between key settlement, health and community agencies working with people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds and Victoria’s mental health reforms and initiatives.

One of the project’s key activities is convening a monthly sector coordination call.

Join the Upcoming Refugee and Asylum Seeker Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordination Call

The Refugee and Asylum Seeker Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordination Calls are monthly meetings designed to foster collaboration among mental health service providers, settlement agencies, health services, and community organisations working with refugee and asylum seeker communities. The calls provide an opportunity to raise awareness about the mental health reforms, provide information about newly established mental health and wellbeing local services and referral pathways, and highlight workforce development and best practices for working with refugee and asylum seeker communities.

    Upcoming 2024 Coordination Call dates:

    Tuesday, 29 October 2024 from 2.00-3.30pm

    Tuesday, 26 November 2024 from 2.00-3.30pm

If you’re interested in attending, please email Faten Mohamed, Project Officer – Refugee and Asylum Seeker Mental Health Coordination, at mohamedf@foundationhouse.org.au  for more information.
