Flood Relief Project

by | Apr 11, 2023

The Victorian Refugee Health Network has been funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing to develop and deliver targeted communication and engagement initiatives to support the multicultural communities impacted by the floods.

The Network have been conducting information sessions in flood affected areas with a high prevalence of refugees and asylum seeker community members. In collaboration with local settlement services and emergency services such as SES, these sessions brought different community groups together to learn information about how to prepare and respond to floods in Australia. These sessions were offered in language with bi-cultural workers employed to deliver the information that can be found on the slides below.

Download the Vic Emergency App for timely emergency information and warnings

The VicEmergency app aligns with the VicEmergency website to provide a centralised location for Victorians to access timely emergency information and warnings.

The app includes warnings and incident notifications for fire, flood, storm, earthquake, tsunami, weather warnings, shark sightings, beach closures and more.

In order to receive location specific app alerts when warnings are issued or incidents occur, you need to set up your watch zones.

You can download VicEmergency from the App Store or Google Play.
