Catherine Cursio is one of the managers of the Health Program at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. With seven years experience in asylum seeker health she brings clinical experience and systems leadership to deliver culturally safe care for people seeking asylum. As Program Manager at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre for four years, she has led multidisciplinary teams of over 57 nurses, doctors, and allied health staff, strengthening service quality, workforce capability, and patient outcomes. Her work centres on collaboration and advocacy across stakeholders, including community organisations and government, to remove barriers and advance equitable access. Her approach is innovative and she fosters psychologically safe teams and co-designs solutions with clients and partners. She is driven by a clear purpose: health equity for displaced communities. She offers strategic insight, operational excellence, and a steadfast commitment to dignity, inclusion, and continuity of care.
